Male shopping at womens department?

I am a crossdresser and want to going shopping for womens clothing and was wondering what the reaction of other women would be if they see a man shopping for lingerie, heels or shopping for clothing?

I have done it many times. I recommend shops like Express, The Limited, Deb, NY%26amp;Co. Department stores usually will ask you to use the men's dressing rooms which can get a bit difficult if you want to use the mirrors in the common area. I just call the stores I wish to visit and ask "I am shopping for women's clothes for myself. Is I get help in your store and can I try things on?" Usually they agree but i can sometimes tell they aren't really cool with it. Then I simply thank them and shop where I am welcome. I recently contacted a few j jill stores and all said OK but one was very sure that they could help me. I did the right thing and went there and PURCHASED several items. Please try to buy when they help you. This encourages them to continue to be helpful to our kind. I now feel comfortable in many of these stores. Have fun and be respectful.

It's not fair is it. I mean I am a woman, I can shop in the womens, juniors and mens dept.I can buy mens boxers to sleep in if I so desire. I can try on and buy mens t-shirts and jeans or boots and it is wholly acceptable. But if a guy wishes to try on womens jeans or blouses and heels he is labled a perv.

Reply:I agree with the last poster. I'd just figure there was a lucky chick somewhere that was going to get presents! I wouldn't worry about it, shopping is supposed to be fun. If people look at you funny, then that is their problem.
Reply:Most women would probably think you are shopping for your wife. Just go during off times, like dinner time when there aren't many women out shopping.
Reply:Well for starters . . . Making the choice to become a cross dresser was a big decision. So that in its self shows that your a strong person. If I saw a man going into a lingerie store I would honestly think that he was in there for his wife or girlfriend. Unless you plan to go in and try things on then its not a big deal and even if you do try stuff on the people who work there cant say anything rude so I would suggest going when most are at work if it makes you that uncomfortable. Reply:I'm not exactly sure what kind of reactions you would get - but I guess you could take a friend that is a girl with you and then no one would probably think anything of it.

Reply:lol, I'm not so sure about lingerie, but the other items seem fairly normal. I think most department stores would assume you were shopping for a girlfriend of yours or something like that. Also, I worked for Abercrombie %26amp; Fitch for about 3 years, and honestly, we had guys come in and shop for, and try on/purchase, women's jeans for themselves all the time. I can't speak for lingerie/heels, but if you want women's clothing without being hassled or stared at, A%26amp;F and their employees are very open with stuff like that. Just find a nice female brand rep to help you out or a gay guy lol. I'm sure they'd love the chance to help a guy get dressed up in women's clothing.





Another idea, personally, I don't think you should have to hide the fact that you are a crossdresser when you shop at clothing stores anyway. But, if you are self conscious, Halloween is coming up after all. You can just say you are getting dressed as a woman for a costume party or the like. Just make sure to really stock up on clothing every October :) Hope that helped a bit.
