Most flattering swimsuit style?
I'm shopping for a new suit and I really need advice!
What is the best type of swimsuit/combination for my body type?
-decent-sized chest (i.e. I need some type of built-in bra, but nothing really "fancy")
-kinda have a tummy and love handles, so I want something that doesn't cling to these areas, and also not something short that exposes skin in this region
-I don't like my upper thighs/bum--I'm comfiest in short-style, not baggy board shorts.
-I definitely don't want a one-piece, and I already have a skirt--it ends up making my butt look bigger, so I want to go with shorts instead
Anyone else deal with these probs? What kind of swimsuit is best? Do you have tips for great places to shop for AFFORDABLE swimsuits? I'm from Canada so I can't shop at Target.
Swimsuit shopping tips?
How about a tankini? Get one that's longer cut, so there will be no midriff exposure or cling. Most have built-in shelf bras. A regular (full) bikini bottom will show enough upper thigh to lengthen the leg while not showing every inch of cellulite - although many tankini styles also come with a boy short bottom.
landsend.com has really nice suits but they tend to be pricey. newportnews.com has some that are not as expensive. Not sure about local stores in Canada...it's a big country....but online shopping means no public changing rooms with fluorescent lighting! :)
Reply:Sounds like you need a tankini. It would definitely help with the tummy area.
Reply:Look at landsend.com. They have swimsuits for every body type, literally.
Reply:You might not think it to start, but I'd try Victoria's Secret (victoriassecret.com). They have really great built-in bras, and you can mix-and-match with their two-piece styles. Their shorts might be a little too short for your taste, I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for; they also have some cute coverups. Good luck!
