Good shopping in chicago?

hello, i will go traveling to chicago next month, and i was wondering if there were any shops there that were small boutiques like Kitson in LA or something like that.

and i was also wondering what other places are good for shopping.

Good shopping in chicago?
Magnificent Mile
Reply:OAK STREET , THE SHOPS ON THE MAGNIFICENT MILE AND THE MALLS . GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY HUNTING , MS. UP TO THE MINUTE CAT WALK LOOKER !
Reply:For high end stores, try the magnificent mile (aka Michigan Ave.). If your more into to Hip Alternative "Indie" stores, try the Belmont/Clark area. (Both are reachable via the public transportation system, CTA Red Line). If shopping malls are your thing...Old Orchard in Skokie, IL is a nice outdoor mall with higher end stores, and then there is Woodfield mall out in Schaumburg, IL. You'll need a car for both of these locales. Just know that woodfield is ALWAYS crowded and that traffic is usually messy in that area.

HAPPY SHOPPING!
Reply:For the high end stores that are, admittedly, everywhere, Michigan Avenue is the place to be, from the Chicago river north to about Delaware Avenue.

For upscale and somewhat independent retail, I'd recommend Rush and Oak streets near Michigan Avenue.

For independent, quirky retail (the best, in my opinion), I'd recommend Armitage Avenue where it meets Sheffield; Damen Avenue north of North Avenue; Milwuakee Avenue, southeast of Damen Avenue; and Lincoln Avenue near Montrose.
Reply:There is a street called Oak Street thats right off of Michigan Avenue....its all specialty/boutique shops all along it. Adjacent to Oak Street is Rush Street and in that area there are numerous small specialty shops as well. Oak is adjacent to Michigan Avenue which has a lot of places to shop as well but bigger stores (like Macy's, Apple Store, Saks Fifth Ave, etc).
Reply:In addition to what Morbidd wrote, I would add the Wicker Park area (both off the Damen and Division stops of the Blue Line -- Division Street right there is lots of fun with unique boutiques -- my personal fave).

Also check out Armitage (off the Brown Line Armitage stop) for unique shops.
