what's better to do

this is the first time I'm shopping on ebay

When shopping on ebay?
It really comes down to how bad you want an item. If you really want something, start out in the stores. They offer things that are "buy it now", so you are guaranteed to get it. If you think you can get it cheaper in an auction, at least you know you can find it in a store if you lose.

When you search, the auctions will always be posted first. Many people have items up for auction that are also in their stores, so look in their store before you bid.
Reply:auctions but make sure you check their feedback.....99.5 is the lowest ill bid from unless they just had bad feedback within the past week....
Reply:either one, but i find most the stores on there overpriced....
Reply:It depends on what you want. If they have something in the stores you want, do that. If it is something you can't find in the store, do the auction thing. Just make sure you are bidding with someone who is established on Ebay. Their rating will be there and you can see how many times they've sold things and such. I bought a great old playstation game by bidding. Cost me a hundred bucks, but you can't find it anywhere else, and that was used to boot.
Reply:Auctions
Reply:i hate eBay. someone scammed off a friend of mine...i will NEVER buy anything off that site.
Reply:eBay is the largest online marketplace and one of the most popular ways to earn an income from home with a PC and internet connection. Selling on eBay is inexpensive and easy to start. Ebay has a number of tools for sellers to maximise sales. These are eBay Pulse, Hot items report, merchandising calendar. By sourcing products at a low price, you can increase your profit. Reply:I go to the store part. I have never done the bidding part. That site confuses me.....
Reply:i like the auctions, you can bid on the item, and sometimes get it dirt cheap
Reply:it all depends on if you want it new or used.i have used both ways and i never had a problem.good luck and have fun.
Reply:Either one. The stores usually have better quality stuff at a "buy it now" price. Sometimes, too, the stores will set in "lots". This means the same of one item, but more of them for one price. I have been a professional eBuyer for almost 5 years now. I buy everything from books, used clothes for my daughter, new shoes, toys, collectibles, etc. on eBay. I love it!
Reply:stores are good, usually have a buy it now option so the price does not increase as much as the auctions, but the auctions are fun to. Watch where its shipping from, sometimes the shipping costs are the same if not more then the item you are buying
Reply:i have an eBay store and the good thing about the store is it is instant and also i tend to sell things cheaper in the store than i do in my auctions.
Reply:Auctions work best for me, just make sure you read everything. for sure the shipping price
Reply:Stores: you can get the item immediately, without having to wait for an auction's end, but the price might be higher. You may find good deals, though.

Auctions: you may get a lower price, but someone can beat you out, frequently at the last minute.
