School shopping. please help...?
As great as a $510 budget sounds at first (I never had that much when I was 14 which is why I was thrilled at first and thought this was going to be easy, lol), it is quite a challenge to get a complete and varied wardrobe with 5 Hollister hoodies out of it without 'neglecting' the rest of the clothes.

I think this is all about mix and match, just be sure when buying clothes, that you are not buying isolated outfits ie. if you have one cami that looks great with only one specific hoodie, it's not a variable as a cami that goes great with 3 hoodies, colour coordination is the key, so don't just buy stuff because it looks great in one specific outfit but also consider how it would go with the rest of your wardrobe, you will get a lot more outfits out of it this way.

So let's see, jeans,I presume you own some already so consider how important it is to get a load of new ones, sure there is a myriad of different styles and it's nice to have new ones but as long as they are not completely crappy, an old pair is hardly going to ruin your outfit, so for now I would say 2 or 3 pairs should do you just fine. If you desperately want more, have a look through sale stuff.

Hoodies, I wouldn't say you need 5 at once, especially because hoodies tend to be quite warm and in the transition period from warm to cold weather (ie.too cold to wear cami or t-shirt without cardigan and too hot to wear hoodie) you may want something a bit lighter, so how about you get 4 for now and get some lighter long sleeves as well instead.

With tops and t-shirts, I would probably get quite a variety, mainly because this is where you can best vary your outfit if you like to layer, so even if you had say, one pair of jeans and one hoodie, you could make 3 slightly different outfits by wearing different camis or t-shirts and accessorising accordingly.

Maybe about 6 to 8 items, varying between camis, tanks and tees depending on what you prefer and what goes best with your wardrobe.

I wouldn't invest a lot of my back to school shopping in socks or underwear to be honest, noone is really going to notice anyway, unless you are urgently in need of new underwear because you have grown to hate your old pairs or whatever, I wouldn't invest a lot in it. A lot of places do 3 for $10 deal on underwear so if you get 3 different panties and a relatively neutral bra (about $20) that will go with all three that should do you.

As you are probably going to spend a lot on hoodies and other clothing, there is not a lot left for accessories and shoes , so I would suggest you go get a few select pieces only that are fairly neutral and go with most of your clothes.

One pair of shoes you like and that compliment your wardrobe should do (though you can probably get some flipflops in more varied styles as well and still be on budget).

Jewelery, maybe get one or two necklaces in a silvery tone and then get earrings that will go with the silver but may add bits of colour with stones or beads as well.

Tried to come up with an example of a shop within your budget that would let you have a variety of options on what to wear, just to give you an idea what you can afford, just as an example, you don't need to like the specific items, it is just to give you a vaque idea of what is possible:

I think you can probably get around 10 or more different outfits out of that as most tops go with at least two hoodies which in my opinion is not a bad number of possibilities.

That set would come in at $481, still leaving some money for underwear or other accessories, maybe shoes whatever seems more important.

If the idea of actually making a set seems a bit over the top or silly, I am quite a visual person and I thought actually seeing a set in front of you allowing you to see what outfits you can get out of it would help you to decide what you need, so I do hope it helps!
Reply:its all about the budgeting! you have to think about what you need and what you can get later, you dont need a ton of jeans and sweaters now cause you can always save up money when it gets closer to winter and then buy some.

3 pairs of HCO jeans..... $120

3 HCO fleece.... $120

3 tanks (try to get mostly basic tanks from hollister they are $15.50)....$46.50

2 camis.....$35

2 tees....$35

2 knits...$30

like i dont know a package of socks i dont really wear socks, i wear flip flops soo i dont know... $10

2 bras.... vICTORIAS SECRET! ... $45

2 sets of 5/$25 panties from VICTORIAS SECRET!!... $50

TAX.....$20

shoes.....converses....$40

you dont really have enough money for accessories (for now, you can always buy it later=]]), i say just layer clothes and mix and match and use jewelry from last year!

omgosh this is soo tough! haha ok so you can either use shoes from last year or beg your parents for $40 cause you dont have enough for shoes or accessories, sorry if this isnt exactly what ya wanted i did the best i could its really hard to have a limit, gosh i hate it, thats why credit cards are sooo great! hope this helped! any questions, email me, maybe i can fix it a little.
