Mystery shopping?

Ive been really interested in mystery shopping for awhile now. The problem is, all the online sites seem like frauds. I was told once that you should never have to pay a fee to become a mystery shopper and every website Ive found requires an upfront payment or some sort. Id like to here from anyone whos actually done mystery shopping, how did you get started and did you have to pay anything to start? Anything else I should know?

Mystery shopping?
There are agencies that don't charge a fee, and they will be local to YOUR city - look in phone book. Problem is, don't look to this to support you. You will go for lunch here, dinner there, maybe just a couple of drinks, or small purchases of crap you may not even need or want. Or pretend to rent an apartment. Maybe get a haircut. And there is not enough pay to provide you a weekly fee you could live on or even be worth the interruption to your day. Maybe the solution is to get on with several different agencies. I gave up because I needed a real job.

Surveys are a scam too unless you want to spend a zillion hours racking up bogus "points" or getting like $1 or $2 per.

Reply:No, you do not have to pay an upfront fee. You will have to work your way up from the bottom though.
