I am crossdressers, who typically orders womens clothing from the internet. I want to be brave and go shopping at a actual store. Will I be drawing attention to my self if I shop at victorias secret for lingerie, and any thing in particular I should consider getting?
Crossdressing, shopping,?
If you go to Victoria's Secret, I would highly recommend going either early in the morning or later in the evening, and talking personally to a salesperson about their policies. Some Victoria's Secrets actually do not allow men to shop there, and going during a busy time will cause the less cool women to complain about you being there. My bro worked there for awhile and he got complaints filed against him almost daily--just for being a guy working behind the counter!
I wish you the absolute best of luck! People are crazy for not realizing how awesome you are for being who you are, not trying to be something else!
Reply:Most store owners don't care who buys their products. Of course, the retail clerks aren't owners, and might not be as accomodating. If you have to go to VS, try going during less busy hours, find one friendly-looking sales agent, and tell her what you're up to. If she is unwilling to help, go elsewhere.
You will definitely be drawing attention to yourself, but that is largely unavoidable. The only way to get around that is to go with a girlfriend, and if you are afraid of talking to a stranger about your crossdressing, you probably won't feel too comfortable telling your girlfriend, if you have one.
Between 5 and 10% of all men crossdress to some extent on a regular basis. Try to remember that.
As for specific items, whatever floats your boat. Unfortunately, most of it really isn't made to fit your body shape. Assuming you're not too tall, you might find yourself a nice camisole that you can wear under your clothes. It might not be as distinctly feminine as a bra, but it is more likely to fit you, and won't build your chest up noticeably.
I can think of few hobbies that are more harmless than yours.
Reply:Nah...guys do it all of the time. Why would anyone notice you? I'd suggest, though, that you wait 'til you get home to try stuff on because, THAT would draw attention. While you're in the store, just look around at all of the guys in there buying that cute stuff! Another benefit...maybe you'll make a new friend!
Reply:My friend Colin is a cross dresser, and for his first shopping trip, he went to Victoria's secret. The salesgirls actually went into the dressing room with him to measure him for a bra! He and I both were shocked that they were as accepting and helpful as they were. I do believe that you will find that female salespeople are much more helpful, and you will also get a female perspective on what will look good on you. Be Brave, don't worry, and good luck!
Reply:Hell go for it ! Pretend its for wife/girlfreind if its not comfortable for you to do at this point in time otherwise just do it.
Reply:one time I saw this guy sifting through panties at the V.S. store.some people were staring and didn't stand near him to pick their items because they probably thought he was a weirdo, since he was a single guy and if a guy is in that store, he's usually with a girlfriend and there to give his opinions, not touch the merchandise.so I think that it'll draw attention.it depends if you feel comfortable or not.just ignore the stares and focus on shopping.
Reply:I crossdress and have shopped in VS with generally a good reception. I would call the store first and explain what you hope to accomplish (try on, get help and try at home...). I prefer to shop in Express, The Limited, NY %26amp; Co. and buy my undies in Target (Here I use the men's dressing room and bring men's clothes in with the bras to illiminate the hassle.) Most stores will accommodate you if they have seperate dressing rooms. I have not been welcomed in DressBarn but that is about it. Fashion Bug, Mandees, Deb shops all good. Have fun!!!
Reply:Ya, a body guard to go with you
