This weekend, a couple of friends from Japan will be visiting me in DC. They want to go shopping, so I'd like to take them to Georgetown this Sunday evening after viewing the cherry blossoms. I am relatively inexperienced when it comes to this kind of stuff... so I have a few questions:
1) What metro stops are closest to Georgetown? How far are the metro stops from the main shopping areas?
2) How late are the stores open in Georgetown on Sunday nights?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Shopping in Georgetown on Sunday nights?
Georgetown is so fun to shop in! It can be VERY expensive though.
The closest metro stop is Foggy Bottom/GWU. Then you can either take the Georgetown shuttle from that metro, or walk a short walk over the bridge to the middle of M st.
If you're eating, and like Thai, I recommend Bangkok Bistro. Look it up. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! The food as well as the drinks.
Have fun! I miss it there! I went to school @ GWU and I used to go to Georgetown all the time.
Reply:it may depend on the stores, glancing around it looks to be in the 5 - 6 pm range. Georgetown actually has their own site that may be easier for you to navigate around to find the info (that you specifically know you want to know) v. me trying to guess.
information on which metro stops and the connector bus service (there's no stop right in g-town) can also be found on the site.

Reply:Someone already gave you great metro advice, so I won't repeat that.
But don't take them to Gtown on a Sunday night. Most of the shops close early (if they are open at all). Most close at around 5 or 6. Take them on Saturday if you can.
Reply:japanese need shushi ..!! take them to sushi bar and thennn buy them some japanese cultural clothes so tht u may dance with them during night time..!!
