Its my daughters 21st the end of the month and she is mad to go shopping in America. I'm looking for something thats not too dear . Any ideas about where to go and shop greatly apprediated. Flights have to be from Ireland.
Shopping trips to America any ideas?
Come to Rhode Island.
We have discount stores, malls, factory stores, and wonderful places to visit.
RISDI art museum
Brown University
Federal Hill
Newport
I can go on and on..
Hotels outside Providence (Warwick near airport) are cheaper. Warwick is centrally located for all kinds of things by car rental. 10 minutes to shopping...city life..
walk to restaurants...few minutes to water..etc.
Reply:i've not read all the answers but i bet most people will say new york. while it's a great city to visit and fairly cheap to get to, staying there, eating out and most other things are pretty expensive. you could maybe try the mall of america (http://www.mallofamerica.com/) which will have all of the american shops which at the current exchange rate, will be a bargain!
as far as flights, try:
www.opodo.co.uk
www.lastminute.com
www.tiss.com
also try airline websites like american airlines, delta, virgin, continental. i've found in the past that they can have really cheap flights (i just flew to Cleveland, Ohio with air canada for £280 return)
it's worth spending the time shopping around and the less you pay on the tickets and hotel, the more you get to spend shopping, right?!
Reply:New York, San Francisco, and Paris. These are all great places to get the hottest fashions. Im sure your daughter would love any of these places. Have Fun!
Reply:it just has to be new york. i took my daughter there for her 21st and we loved it. we flew from Scotland, so it should be easy enough to get flights from Ireland.
Reply:I'm just back from new york with my girlfriend last month. there are loads of shops all over manhattan where you get great bargains. You and your daughter wont be bored!! From 8th avenue all along to the east side of manhattan there are excellent shops, clothing etc. And of course Bloomingdales and Macys. We liked Macys better than Bloomingdales but you can go to both. You would love them. Have a great trip.
Reply:Got to be New York. You can get great deals at this time of year and it has the absolute best shopping as well as being an pretty easy journey.
Reply:I went NYC for my 21st it was fantastic I loved it and have been back since. We found the best place for shopping was the sales in Macy's and Seacaucas(not sure i spelled it right) I am a self confessed shopaholic and I don't stop shopping till I fall down. I have also been to Chicago which was pretty good as well however Chicago has a better nightlife for both young and old also you can hire a car to go the shopping malls no sore hands!!! but you don't get the atmosphere of NYC. We are going to Boston this year not sure what that will be like. Have a good trip wherever you end up.
Reply:I suppose it depends on where in the U.S you are visiting...I live in Boston and can tell you Fanual Hall is a great place to shop, Quincy Market there are malls, malls and more malls all over the state..Clarks trading Post in NH is nice, you can head up to Maine and hit some Native American shops....the possibilities are endless! :)
Reply:If its New York it has to be Macy,s be prepared for a long day,s shopping
